Dear Eligible Scholarship Families:

Colvig Silver Camps is a private, non-sectarian children's summer camp devoted to improving self-esteem, identity, and leadership skills through non-competitive outdoor education. Each summer our 250 campers and 55 staff from all over the country and beyond come together to form a unique social situation ideal for the development and growth of everyone involved.

CSC is committed to making the camp experience available to a variety of ages, cultures, ethnicities, and income levels. Within our enrollment structure we provide for roughly 8-10 partial scholarships each summer for those unable to fully afford our camp experience. These partial scholarships range from 10-75% discounts on tuition and do not include incidental expenses or travel to and from camp.

Applicants for scholarship are judged on the following categories:
1. The applicant's desire to participate in our particular program.
2. Perceived benefit to the applicant.
3. The applicant's contribution to the program.
4. The applicant's physical and emotional ability to participate in the program.
5. Total annual family income and amount the family determines it can pay.
6. Which camp the applicant would be in and which term he/she would like to attend
(openings depend on enrollment for the year.)

To apply, please return the following items to our office as soon as possible. (Please call the office for application deadlines)
1. Application for enrollment.
2. Letter of application from the applicant's parents addressing the six categories above.
3. If the applicant is 11 years old or older, a letter from the applicant addressing the first four categories.
4. Three references - one from a current teacher or school counselor and two from non-family members.

5. Front page of the family's most recent 1040 IRS form.

When providing information about what your family can contribute please remember we would like to make the camp experience available to as many people as possible. Thank you for your interest in attending Colvig Silver Camps. We will respond to your request by late Spring.
