Nicole Hamme,
Silver Saddle

Hello! My name is Nicole and I will be the Saddle Coordinator this summer! I am from Columbus, Ohio and I’m coming back to camp because Colvig is a place where I can fully be myself. The campers and fellow staff members inspire me to be the best version of myself that I can be. Camp is a place that embraces creativity, cultivates community and challenges you to go outside of your comfort zone. It’s my favorite place on earth. Some of my favorite pastimes are horseback riding, skiing, and wading in rivers and oceans. Anything outdoors!

Andrew Belsito,
Silver Spruce

Hey there world! My name is Andrew, and I will be the Spruce Coordinator for the 2016 summer! Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, this is my 5th summer on staff at Colvig Silver Camps. I decided to come to camp this summer because of the caring, thoughtful and responsible community that is created by both campers and counselors alike each summer. When I arrived in the Red Creek Valley in 2012 having never been to CSC, or any camp as a kid, I was, and continue to be, blown away by the people camp recruits to dedicate their summer to making each term a truly unique experience. Then the campers show up and take the experience to a whole new level. Every year, new and return campers arrive eager and excited to make new friends, re-unite with old pals, get out of their comfort zones and embrace whatever wacky activities the counselors have planned, often making them even more wacky. Now a Coordinator, I get to play a hand in teaching staff members the roles, responsibilities and a little know-how on making the magic of camp come alive. Oh yeah, and there is that whole backpacking part that I love too. Waking up at 10,000 feet with the only sound and light pollution that of my fellow trip members putting away their sleeping bags, a babbling brook down the way, and the sun shining in my face are the mornings that make me think of camp year round. Opening Day can’t come soon enough!

Melissa Miller,
Homestead

Hello! My name is Melissa, and I am the 2016 Homestead Coordinator! I am from Santa Fe, New Mexico and was a four year camper, starting as an Outposter in 2008. CSC is where I found my love of the outdoors, much of my self-confidence, and the inspiration to embrace silliness. Now, I want to be a part of making that happen for this new generation of campers. In my spare time I love spending time outside, mostly backpacking and hiking. I can’t wait to get this summer started in just a few short weeks!

Glenys Hunt,
Outpost

Hello Everyone! My name is Glenys and I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and moved to Grinnell, IA for college. I will be the Outpost Program Coordinator this summer. I am returning to camp because I think working there was the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. I felt fortunate to be able to get to know, guide, inspire, and be inspired by my campers, and I look forward to making more meaningful connections this year as OUtpost Coordinator. I spend most of my free time at the climbing gym, since Iowa’s not known for its climbing spots!
