“How beautiful a day can be
when kindness touches it.”
We know that camp will be particularly important this year coming out of months of isolation and uncertainty. Time outside with peers and away from screens, focusing on connecting with self, others, and the world around us will be that much more valuable. Lots of campers are signed up already, but not all families can afford to send their children to camp.
It has always been an important part of the Colvig Silver Camps mission to help deserving campers attend our program when they don’t have the financial means to cover the full cost of tuition. We believe that the summers of significance that we have provided our community since 1969 should be available to as many people as possible.
Towards this end we have consistently used 1-2% of our budget towards financial aid to help provide campers with partial help in joining us for a CSC experience. However, because of the financial effects of the loss of last summer, we will be unable to fund that financial aid internally as usual this year. But, with your help we can still help these kids get to camp!
Through our 20 year partnership with A Thousand Summers, a charitable 501(c)3 camp scholarship charity (formerly the John Austin Cheley Foundation), you can make a tax deductible donation so that those campers will be able to benefit from a CSC experience.
We have set a goal of raising $15,000 between now and April 15th to help an additional 5-10 campers share a summer of even more significance with us in 2021.
Please, join us in this effort to help us all recover from this last year.
